Bowleg's Main Story

Compiled as a limited 12" release for Record Store Day 2010 on Saturday April 17, Fragments From Work In Progress finds various artists from the 4AD roster exclusively showcasing rough drafts and material ahead of each act's forthcoming work.

Being released in the label's 30th year, it features session tracks and demos, capturing an upfront snapshot of some of the thought processes each artist is currently going through.

Harlem make their Matador debut with Hippies, a sixteen track album, recorded with the assistance of Mike McHugh, it is set for release on April 26th

This April and May, Mark Lanegan is returning to Europe to tour solo material for the first time since promoting the release of his last acclaimed solo record, Bubblegum (2004). Being joined by Dave Rosser, these shows will see them acoustically perform tracks from Mark's extensive catalogue. The Hold Steady will release a highly limited number of vinyl copies of their new album ‘Heaven Is Whenever’ (Rough Trade / Vagrant Records) on April 17 as part of Record Store Day, complete with custom screen printed artwork.  The extremely limited run of the album will only be available in independent record stores participating in Record Store Day.  ‘Heaven Is Whenever’ will officially be released on CD, vinyl and digitally on May 3rd.

Bowleg's Radar: Best Coast



Best Coast are Los Angeles based Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno. The band have had a run of great 7"s and are now working on their debut album, and from what we are told expect a Beach Boys twist on the East Coast 60's girls groups (Ronettes, Shangri-La's).
